Juan Puablo Mier y Terán

Félix Mier y Terán Lejeune was among the architects who shaped the Modern Merida in the 1950s and 1970s. His son, artist Juan Pablo is a true lover of the open spaces, the “volados” (cement overhangs) and stone walls, evocating part of that architecture. Integrating his art to those elements, the artist expresses a certain revival of the Historical Center of Merida, where he lives and works. After 35 years of showing all around the Americas and Europe, Merida is definitely home to his art.
