This first retrospective of Michel Maugée’s body of works presents 24 years of emblematic paintings and sculptures from the last one in Martinique: the sunrise over the volcano, Le retour de Jupiter, that he painted sitting at his home’s window, to his last Yucatecan ones. Going through such an exhibition is always an interesting journey. Yet in the particular case of Michel Maugée, it is an even greater pleasure.
