Amanda Arrou-tea
Amanda Arrou-tea (también conocida como Mandi Oh), nacida al norte de España en San Sebastián, capital del País Vasco; desde muy joven sintió una conexión con las sirenas. Usando pintura al óleo, comenzó a retratar su visión cuando solo tenía 9 años. Sintiendo en todo su ser que las sirenas eran reales, comenzó a buscar a su clan femenino en cada estanque, río y mar.
Mientras estudiaba arte, Amanda aprovechó todas las oportunidades para seguir adelante, incluyendo becas en España y Francia, lo que la hizo desarrollar una visión más amplia de la pintura, pero también de la fotografía y el video.
Aún sedienta de conocimiento, se mudó a México para continuar con su investigación personal, regresando estratégicamente a algunos cenotes donde anteriormente había encontrado a su primera sirena. Después de años de energías místicas, pintura, sal marina, más pintura, más estudios, curadurías, clima caluroso, en 2016 se mudó a Alemania, en Berlín, para enfocarse en su carrera artística.
Hoy en día, Amanda está feliz de estar de regreso en Mérida mientras viaja para desarrollar más proyectos.
Amanda Arrou-tea (aka Mandi Oh), born North of Spain in San Sebastián, capital of the Basque Country; from a very young age felt a connection with the mermaids. Using oil paint, she started portraying her vision when she was only 9. Feeling in her whole being that mermaids were real, she started looking for her female clan in every pool, river, and sea.
As she studied Fine Arts, Amanda pursued all opportunities to move on, including using scholarships between Spain and France, which made her develop a wider sight for paint, but also photography and video.
Still hungry for knowledge, she moved to Mexico to continue her personal research, strategically going back to some Cenotes where she had previously found her first mermaid. After years of mystical energies, paint, sea salt, more paint, more studies, curatorships, hot weather, in 2016, she moved to Germany, in Berlin, to focus on her artistic career.
Nowadays, Amanda is happy to be back to Merida as she travels for developing more projects.
