Edgar H. Canul González
Edgar H. Canul González focuses his work on research and experimental graphics, in parallel to the constant experimentation of sound art. His work is mixed with transfer images on wood, in an inverted writing, and along with his constant dalliance in performance and installation, he also plays with writing, whose main theme is the constant search for something that drives us. moving forward, his writing borders on horror and surreal fantasy of imaginary worlds.
In his work as a performer, there is the integration of materials that come from a profession, baking, a profession that he practiced until he was 27 years old, when he decided to continue his studies in art. His installations evoke those silent elements, but in his montages, they shout out loud, a proposal that seeks a critique of the changes that have taken place in the last ten years in his community of Chablekal. In short, his work speaks of an origin and an identity based on materials that give way to his conceptual ideas in a world full of ideals and visual images related to the world of art.
